GLOOMIS®...
|
Where
technology and performance meet. |
"In 1986, Gary Loomis invited world casting champion and
expert rod designer Steve Rajeff to try out his prototype IMX
fly rod. (It was a 9 ft. #6, for the record). One month later,
Steve joined GLOOMIS®. He
now holds a total of 13 world
and 24 national casting titles, and has helped design, test, and
refine every rod we offer. A lifelong, die-hard fisherman,
Steve's been designing rods since the early 1970's. Together,
he and Gary possess over 45 years of rod design experience
and an understanding of rod materials and manufacturing unmatched
in the industry. Which is precisely why our
top-of-the-line rods, like the GLX Series, now offer sensitivity,
casting accuracy and fish fighting power beyond compare in
the industry. Ask any expert angler and they'll tell you: When
it comes to pushing technology and performace to the limit,
GLOOMIS®
rods
have no equal. And, quite frankly, the same can be said for Steve
Rajeff and Gary Loomis."
ROD FEATURES
|
Premium Cork |
|
Exclusive
Materials |
|
Only the finest Ultra grade cork from Portugal is selected for
our rod handles. First it's custom shaped for comfort and sensitivity.
Then we fill the cork's natural voids (or pores) with an exclusive
catalized neutral-density hydrophobic material for the ultimate
in durability and feel. |

|
|
With the possible exception of NASA, nobody has more experience
in graphite design engineering than GLOOMIS®. Time
and time again, we've revolutionized the fishing rod industry
with our advances in composite technology. By working with grphite
manufacturers, we've helped create the lightest, most advanced
materials ever developed for fishing rods. And thanks to our
custom-designed proprietary machinery, we're able to roll denser
laminates, producing rod blanks so strong, precise and consistent,
no one else can possibly match them. |

|
Advanced Guides |
|
Stealth Finish |
|
GLOOMIS® fly
rods feature single foot snake guides for further weight reductions
and easy passage of nail knots. Our casting and spinning models
feature lightweight braced ceramic guides. And for the ultimate
in corrosion resistance and durability, all our GLX and GL4 models
boast Titanium Carbide-Nitride coated frames. |
|
|
|
Every GLOOMIS®
rod
features a no glare, no scare, matte finish. That means less
rod flash while casting, and less chance of spooking wary fish.
On our GLX and IMX modes, however, we go one step further for
the ultimate in stealth: A buffed graphite non-finish that not
only stops glare, it eliminates finsh weight altogether. Yet
another way we've found to make our rods the lightest you've
ever fished. |
